"Since graduating from HIM in 1998, I have pursued my career with the Frenchman’s Creek Beach and Country club, gaining experience in many departments and working my way up to my current role as Food and Beverage Director. Working in a club environment is very different to other roles as guests live, work and play on site. When I chose to study hospitality, I did not go to learn to say “no” but rather to learn how to succeed in this industry. Success that is built by continuously exceeding guests expectations, anticipating their needs and providing a personalized service. 
One of the highlights of my career and a responsibility as a part of my role is to look after the training of international staff and interns. I love to see interns who are so full of passion for the career they have chosen and to know that I can help them to grow and achieve their goals.
At HIM I had the opportunity to live and work with people from all over the world. I learned to adapt to changing situations and be flexible, skills that are very important in the country club and hospitality industry in general.
My advice to future students of hospitality is that it takes true passion. Hospitality is a very hard profession, it is a life-style and you will be working when everyone else is off enjoying their holidays! But, if it is your true passion the rewards are endless and the sky is the limit!"
