If you possess those qualities, you are half way there already."The deciding factor for me to choose the hospitality industry as a career was not only my interest in the trade itself but my passion to please people and making them feel comfortable. The hospitality industry is about people and cultures and the difference in expectations that comes with that.
Product, service and guest recognition are three pillars that I believe separate a good experience from an excellent one. To be able to anticipate what a guest expects from their stay and to consistently deliver above and beyond those expectations, by recognizing each individual guest is what makes this industry so interesting and challenging.
The hospitality industry is often linked with glamour, celebrities and red carpets. This is sometimes the case but the majority of the time it is about hard work and long hours. It requires you to give a lot of yourself but the rewards are so many. I have lived and worked in more than ten countries during my career and each experience makes you grow a little bit, not only professionally but also as a person. Each day is unique in this business and that is what makes it so stimulating. I can’t see myself in a different job.
