John Daly, Academic DeanSince joining HIM in 2003, John has worked as the Assistant Academic Dean and a program leader for first, second and third years. Previously he worked in the Hotel industry in four and five star properties as Assistant Manager, Catering Manager and Food and Beverage Manager. He holds a degree in Hotel management, a Masters degree in tourism and a postgraduate diploma in 'teaching and learning in higher education.”
Ulrika Björklund, Assistant Academic Dean
Ulrika joined HIM in 2009 working as a lecturer and program leader before taking on the role of Assistant Academic Dean. As a Graduate of HOSTA, Hotel Institute of Leysin, Ulrika has extensive international experience in the Hotel Industry, including working as a GM. Ulrika has attended the General Managers Program at Cornell University, USA, where she also earned a diploma in Strategic Human Resource Management. She is a member of SKAL, International Institute of Hospitality (UK) and the Global Hoteliers Club.
Dr Rebecca Wallace, Northwood Program Manager
Rebecca joined the HIM faculty in 2005 and lectures in Statistics and Critical Analysis on the Northwood BBA and MBA programs in addition to her role as Northwood Program Manager. Rebecca holds a B.Sc from the University of Edinburgh and a Ph.D from the NERC research unit at the University of Sheffield, U.K. Prior to joining HIM, Rebecca spent many years within the corporate world, fulfilling a number of business roles, including managing a global project for a leading multinational bank.
Andrew is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and holds a Certificate in Hotel Revenue Management from Cornell University as well as being a Graduate in Hotel Operations from Westminster Hotel School, London. He has significant industry experience working in several prestigious hotels in the UK, Switzerland and Belgium. He has also worked as a General Manager of 4* Hotels in London, Montreal, Toronto, Moscow.
Roger Eyer, First Year Program Leader
Roger is a Certified Hospitality Educator who graduated from Hotelfachschule Thun, Eidgenössisch Diplomierter Restaurateur/Hôtelier HF. He Joined HIM in 1999 as Lecturer and Internship Coordinator where he was promoted to the position of Program Leader in 2006.
Gedeon Tumong, PGDHM and PGDHO Program Leader
Gedeon joined HIM as a lecturer in February 2005 bringing with him a long experience in business management. He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Schiller International University, American College of Switzerland and is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE). His experience in business management was gained whilst running his own proprietorship in Germany, and working for numerous companies including Texaco Oil Cameroon and the United Nations International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/ITC) in Geneva, Switzerland. Gedeon has recently been promoted as PGDHM and PGDHO Program Leader.
Michael Heinrich, Language Program Leader
With more than 25 years experience in the Swiss Hospitality Industry particularly in Front Office, Michael joined HIM in 2007. He has worked as Front Office Manager at the Mövenpick Hotel in Lausanne, the Crans Ambassador in Montana and at the Montreux Palace. He also managed the hotels Savoy and d'Angleterre in Geneva and worked as an Assistant Commercial Director with the Manotel chain in Geneva.
Alfred Kubat, Service lecturer & Maître d’hôtel in One5
Graduated from Hotelfachschule in Austria and worked in the Hospitality industry for 23 years beginning as Chef de rang in Seiler Hotels in Zermatt and working his way up to Maître d’hôtel. He joined HIM in 2003 as Service lecturer & Maître d’hôtel in One5, HIM’s fine dining restaurant.
